BACK TO THE FUTURING

ACTEA has been working on a strategic plan for outlining the specific
role of New York State’s Career and Technical Education programs
in closing the achievement gap, attainment of 21st century skills
and P-16 educational reform.

The strategic plan consists of three initial aims
(more may be determined in the future):

  • Widely disseminate cogent evidence to demonstrate that
CTE is a fundamental way of educating students P-16.

  • Promote the properties, characteristics and components contained in
CTE as a high school reform mechanism for improving student
achievement, closing the achievement gap and increasing
    graduation rates.

  • Continue to build the capacity of the CTE system to increase the
relevance and rigor of our programs.
