ACTEA INTRODUCES OUR NEW
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DR. JON METZ

Jon's dedication to Career and Technical Education
began as an instructor for a Board of Cooperative
Education Services (BOCES) in New York.
Wanting to share his passion for education beyond
the classroom walls, he left teaching to become an
administrator. Jon held various positions at the
building and district level including Coordinator of
Staff and Curriculum Development; Supervisor of
Instructional Technologies; Associate Director of
Operations; Director of Career and Technical
Education; and Principal, giving him experience in
many facets of education with expertise in
instructional and organizational leadership.

Dr. Metz earned an associate's degree (AOS) in
Hotel Technology/Culinary Arts, a bachelor's degree
(BS) in Hospitality Management, a master's degree
(M.S.Ed.) in Education, and a doctorate (Ed.D.) in
Educational Leadership. As an adjunct professor, at
the post-secondary level, he taught “Methods of
Instruction” and “Supervision of Education”. Jon has
also provided expertise on many subjects related to
education at various local, regional, and state
conferences.
