How the future works today
With Jim Brazell and Bob Allen
Jim Brazell and Bob Allen from the Radical Platypus speakers federation will lead
the New York CTE Administrators community in a playful and engaging workshop
designed to move us from the what and why of change (which we know) to how.
After delivering the National Association of Tech Prep Leadership (NATPL) workshop
during in Atlanta in October, the New York Association of Career and Technical
Education Administrators (ACTEA) selected the duo for an interactive day in Albany, NY.
ACTEA workshop goals include:
- Playing out ACTEA leadership plans through story telling and scenarios
- Model how to position and message CTE to gain state-wide stakeholder support
- Moving from what and why to ACTEA operational strategies
- Forecasting emerging technology and emerging jobs
Jim and Bob's audiences say:
“Wow! …outstanding workshop professional development experience for 100 NATPL
members.” Timothy D. Nolan, 2008-2009, Director of Professional Development,
National Association of Tech Prep Leadership and Director, Greater Cincinnati Tech
Prep Consortium
“The play shop is the absolute best professional development workshop I have
attended in my career!” Janet Jaworski, Ed.D., 2010-2011, Director of Professional
Development, National Association of Tech Prep Leadership and Executive Director,
Global EDGE Tech Prep Consortium
Radical Platypus PlaySHOPTM results are in! “75% of all NATPL Leaders who
responded to the professional development survey say the workshop speakers,
activities and message were meaningful, motivating, and worth my effort. 19% say
satisfactory and 4 out of 100 say not at all. Well, I guess that shows you can please
most!” Libby Livings-Eassa, 2008-2009, President, National Association of Tech Prep
Leadership, Director of Career Pathways Initiatives, Indian River State College
